Crack Open a Claw, and Your Wallet

Legendary South Beach restaurant Joe’s Stone Crab’s season began two days ago, and we’re sure the local institution has already served hundreds of decadent, tender crab claws since then. And although they’re well worth the months-long wait and equally lofty prices, they’re being served up this Sunday for a good cause — the abused, abandoned, and neglected children served by the Children’s Home Society of Florida.

Last year the organization helped more than 90,000 families, and still more are in need. Each year Joe’s does its part by putting its regular service on pause to open its doors to Claws for a Cause and the philanthropists in our midst. At 1 p.m., join the fray and nosh on a brunch of Florida stone crabs, coleslaw, hash browns, and, of course, Joe’s famed key lime pie. And don’t miss the wallet-prying cocktail hour, which promises champagne, wine, and bloody marys capable of putting anyone in a giving mood. Tickets start at $275.
